Services

CPL recognizes that communities’ needs vary. Therefore, while some themes certainly emerge that will transform any educational setting in service of nontraditional learners, we will also customize our approach and recommendations after consultation with relevant stakeholders (i.e. learners, educators, leadership) in each community we partner with.

Understanding Nontraditional Learners

Your team wants to serve 100% of your students, but some of them are “slipping through the cracks,” and you’re not sure what to do! CPL’s primary mission is to help education stakeholders assess, understand, and innovate solutions to meet the learning needs of students who fall outside of the traditional sphere of success. We will help you learn about your nontraditional learners’ needs, dismantle personal deficit models that may be hindering progress towards equity, overcome power differentials, develop creative solutions to meet learners where they are, and ultimately expand the sphere of success at your institution.

Topics that may emerge from initial consultation include:

  • High School Equivalency Programming

  • Competency-Based Learning

  • Trauma-Informed Educational Practices
