The Founder and C.E.O. of Community Powered Learning has been partnering with learners, educators, and other stakeholders in alternative and supplemental educational programs that serve adolescents and adults since 2003. She founded CPL in 2021 in response to the increasing need for alternative pathways to academic, personal, and career success for learners whose needs are not met with consistency by traditional learning models. Adolescents and adults who have obligations beyond school—such as family, health, or work—require creative and flexible programming that enables them to succeed on their own terms. Rather than establishing independent programs that are distinct from existing options, CPL strives to support educational institutions in developing their own potential to serve these learners within their existing frameworks through determination of needs, coordination of services, professional development, barrier mitigation, and modeling of best practices in direct service of students.
